Abstract

Baby shower cards can be a nice way to acknowledge a coworker's upcoming baby while also maintaining some separation between their personal and professional lives. Just like with standard baby showers, cards allow colleagues to offer congratulations and a small gift without the need for a full-blown office party. Some benefits of baby shower cards in the workplace include: They're less disruptive than passing around a card or gift at someone's desk. Expecting parents can open cards privately. Cards keep gift-giving low-key and allow people to contribute as little or as much as they want. Not everyone wants to spend a lot on a coworker. They avoid potential issues around opinions on things like baby registries or showers. Cards keep it light and casual. Expecting parents likely have a lot on their plates preparing for the baby. Cards don't require their attendance at an event during work hours. They maintain a level of separation that respects the boundary between someone's work and personal/family matters.
